One of my pet peeves is people calling my house and telling lies over the phone in the interest of "telemarketing" some product to me. Well this is a funny audio clip of someone who decided to fight back against the telemarketers lies:

Telemarketers are the reason I'm so grateful for caller ID. I never deal with them any more, because I do not answer the phone if the caller is unidentified or has a weird area code.
My husband, however, loves to get on the phone and berate them.
I can't do that. I held too many part time market research jobs in college and would rather just not answer. I can't be rude to some poor college kid on the other end who hates making the calls in the first place (I know. I'm projecting.)
Donna, I know what you mean. I rarely answer the house phone. If I do happen to answer it, I am always polite to telemarketers because I do feel for the poor guys who are just trying to earn a living. However I despise the fact that they almost always have a "big fat claim" that is a lie.
